A Mercy

Our book selection for April is A Mercy by Toni Morrison. We’ll be meeting on Tuesday the 14th from 7-9pm at church. Recently,  NPR showcased this book on its Book Tour program.  To read or watch their interview with Toni Morrison, and hear portions from A Mercy read by the author, click here.

Christian Classics Ethereal Library

If you enjoy reading Christian Classics or the writings of the Church Fathers then you would probably like exploring the Christian Classics Ethereal Library. Among other resources, it contains the full text of hundreds of excellent scholarly books, devotionals, and works of poetry that have stood the test of time. As a sample of some of the wonderful reading material you will find there, check out this selection from one of my favorites: Abandonment to Divine Providence, by Jean-Pierre de Caussade.

The Maker’s Diet

We will be discussing The Maker’s Diet, by Jordan Rubin, at our next book club meeting on March 12th (in the church lounge from 7-9pm). Visit the author’s website if you are interested in finding out more about the ideas in this book.
